  1. Jon,

I heard your TV interview. You seemed very clear-headed for someone who had just been through a horrible ordeal. Here’s hoping that the rest of your life will be blessed with much happiness.

  3. Dear Jon,

My mom told me about what happened to you, and I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I’m sorry that my donation isn’t very large; it’s about all I can manage right now. But please know that it is also from my mom, who is extremely touched by your ordeal. She told me that you’re her hero, and that she would hug you if she could. You are a very brave man, and I hope that your recovery is swift.

  4. Jon,

I watched the Today Show interview with you and Matt Lauer Tuesday morning. Your courage while stuck and attitude now are impressive and inspiring. I especially was moved by your thoughts of your dog, girlfriend, and family. I didn’t see it on the interview but hope your dog survived the time alone as well. Wishing you the best and hope that you are recovering physically, emotionally, and mentally from an experience that is impossible to imagine.

  5. Thank goodness, yes! Portia was a little dehydrated, but otherwise just fine! She is such a trooper she didn’t even do her “doggie business” in the house once during those 3 days–she held it the whole time. In addition to being one of the biggest reason that I wanted to survive, Portia has a strength that I am humbled by and offers a unconditional love that is… well… human.
